A local hotel recently launched a special promotion that offered unwitting members a crack at a ‘real’ fortune cookie.
Dining members were unaware that these fortune cookies contained a literal ‘fortune’ inside—with one of them containing a cool Php 1 million cash, tax-paid.
Disguised as a food tasting event hosted by Resorts World Manila’s Cantonese fine dining restaurant Passion, the affair invited RWM members over for what they expected to be nothing more than a hearty lunch. As the lauriat came to an end, the emcee and waiting staff emerged with trays of fortune cookies which were then distributed among the diners, with the winning fortune cookie eliciting a hysterical reaction from the lucky winner.

“RWM is committed to spreading good luck and fortune this Year of the Wood Goat,” said Martin Paz, Chief Integrated Marketing Officer, Resorts World Manila. “We are opening our doors for guests to experience a whole new ‘World of Luck’ wherein good fortune awaits them at every turn inside our property.”
Earn enough points and stand a chance to take home prizes and surprises through scratch cards placed inside ‘real’ fortune cookies. Each card entitles participants to either minor or grand prizes worth a total of Php5 million. Also, for a minimum purchase, diners enjoying authentic Cantonese cuisine at RWM’s Passion can also take their chances on a fortune cookie containing instant cash prizes. These are just some of the many ways guests and members can literally taste the fortune and try RWM’s ‘World of Luck: Fortune Cookie’ throughout the month of February.
