Reese Witherspoon, Jim Toth Announce Decision to Divorce

After almost 12 years of marriage, Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth are divorcing. The Hollywood celebrities revealed the news in a joint statement on Witherspoon’s Instagram account.

“We have some personal news to share… It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” it reads.

Although the former couple “have enjoyed so many wonderful years together,” they are now “moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”

As parents to their 10-year-old son Tennessee James, Witherspoon and Toth turned off the comments of the post and requested privacy. “Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time,” they concluded, before signing their names.

The actor/producer known for “According to Jim” (2001) and “Stand Up to Cancer” (2021) married Witherspoon in March 2011.

One of the rom-com icons, Witherspoon is famous for her roles in “Legally Blonde” (2001), “Sweet Home Alabama” (2002), and “Just Like Heaven” (2005). She also made a cameo in the hit sitcom “FRIENDS” (1994 to 2004) where she played the role of Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston)’s sister, Jill.

Additionally, Witherspoon recently reunited with Hollywood heartthrob Ashton Kutcher in the Netflix movie “Your Place or Mine” which was released in February this year.
