The Original: Hydrogen H1 P790
(Jamon serrano, bacon, salami, toasted garlic and jalapeno pepper)
Bite after bite, The Original never failed to satisfy and keep me biting even more.
You might have previously heard about this heaven-sent Panizza. They also serve this at My Kitchen by Chef Chris. Check out our feature about it here: My Kitchen by Chef Chris is a Haven of a Deli Inside an Oasis
Lengua Estufado P650
(Tender imported ox tounge slices in classic gravy with tomato, mushroom and
green olives served over butter whipped potatoes)
Â
The preparation triggered so much foodgasm, that even non-fans of ox tongue will be enticed – and that includes me. It was tender and tasted great, and the mashed potato really complimented the taste. FYI, a number of their chefs are Kapampangans, who are innately talented in cooking. There’s no wonder why the food tastes extra good!
Spaghetti 50:50 P490
(Recess very own meat balls, 50% beef, 50% bacon, 100% delicious. Braised in aromatic spiced tomato sauce with fresh herbs and Parmesan cheese)
I was just about to finish my pizza roll when my senses were greeted by the pastas being served. With both of them looking so delicious, I didn’t know which one to devour first!
Spaghetti Verena P520
(Anchovies sauteed in virgin olive oil with garlic, enticed with salmon, rapini, brocolli flowers, fresh mushrooms and asparagus)
Â
Shoutout to all vegetarians, as well as those on a healthy diet! This pasta might just be your new best friend. I love that it has a distinct taste – something that will keep you coming back for another plate. The salmon blended well with the taste of the veggies, too.
Chef Tinlou’s Lemon Cheesecake P290
(Sugarcrusted served with lemon peel sauce and almond flakes)
Â
Should I need to choose a favorite comfort food, this would be it. Pistachios, lemon and cheese make up a good combo. This lemon cheesecake is the new apple of my eye.
Special Banana Turon P280
(Turon served with vanilla ice cream on top and drizzled with caramel sauce)
Â
The Filipinos’ classic turon served with a vanilla flavor is Recess’ dessert to boast. The crunchiness and hotness of the turon worked well with the coldness of the ice cream and the sweetness of the caramel sauce on top. Whoever thought of this had a wise idea.
Aside from the hearty meals for lunch and dinner, Recess now serves Breakfast Originals, as well: American, English and Filipino are among the choices. If you’re in the mood for some booze, Recess’ bar has you covered, too, with a multitude of drinks to choose from. Being an all-in restaurant, it isn’t surprising that a heap of the guests at the restaurant are regulars, most especially during dinner. I recommend you to make reservations prior to visiting to ensure your slots.
Foodies are sure to attribute Recess’ originality and twist in every dish to being an instant favourite. The creatively reinvented food varieties including pastas, pizzas, main courses and desserts-Â of which chef Chris Locher is the patriarch – all become noteworthy to everyone after dining at the restaurant. As of this writing, looking for good food to fill your belly is just a piece of cake. Tag your family, friends or officemates along and dine at the best place to go to during break time, Recess by Chef Chris.
