PWR Vendetta 2 – The King’s Revenge

Joey Bax vs SANDATA

Speaking of former Dual Shock members, SANDATA would face his rival Joey Bax in singles competition. Joey Bax tried to get the upper hand by attacking SANDATA before the match. The masked fighter from the South, however, wasn’t caught off guard and was ready for a brawl. Both men entered the ring and Joey Bax was quick to trap SANDATA with a headlock. SANDATA launched Bax into the ropes but Bax came back with a shoulder block to down the masked competitor. SANDATA, on Joey Bax’s bounce off the ropes, sent his opponent to the mat with a double leg takedown. SANDATA, similar to his attack on Bax in the last event, started to focus on attacking the latter’s legs. Joey Bax would retaliate soon and would punish SANDATA’s arm near the ropes. Bax kept SANDATA on the mat with a snapmare and slapped on a chinlock. SANDATA delivered some uppercuts to Bax before he delivers some hard kicks to the Fighter 4 Hire. SANDATA missed a big splash on the corner and Bax took advantage with an inverted DDT. Bax took SANDATA on a trip to Suplex City with a vertical suplex on SANDATA for a 2 count. He delivered a double underhook suplex on SANDATA and yet again pinned his opponent for 2.

Bax channeled his inner Scott Steiner by doing a couple of pushups while SANDATA was down. Bax would deliver a vertical suplex on SANDATA but only got a 2 count. Bax sent SANDATA to a corner and connected with a clothesline and a powerslam, but yet again had a 2 count. SANDATA rallied back with a flying calk kick and a dropkick to take Bax down. SANDATA peppered Joey Bax with his signature kicks before he sent him face first to the mat with his Pabasag headscissors takedown. Bax wriggled free from SANDATA’s first ankle lock attempt and was about to pull a fast one on SANDATA with a rollup. However, SANDATA kicked out at two and finally got his first singles win when he made Bax tap out to his grapevine ankle lock submission hold.

For the PWR Championship: Ralph Imabayashi vs “Classical” Bryan Leo

Bryan Leo was on his own as he made his way to ringside. The former PWR champion kept shouting “Two Time” to the crowd, signalling that he was gunning for his second reign as PWR Champion. The PWR Champion, Ralph Imabayashi, made his way with the title belt in hand and a determined look on his face. Both men went on a heated exchange of forearms, slaps and chops to start the match. The spirited PWR Champion was in control with some high octane chops and punches after he backed Leo to the corner. Bryan Leo caught Ralph momentarily with some hard shoulder charges at the corner, but the champion fought back. Ralph pinned Leo after a bodyslam + legdrop combo but the latter kicked out at 2. Bryan Leo left the ring and Ralph tried to deliver a flying clothesline, but he misses Leo and hits the steel steps. Bryan Leo rolled Ralph into the ring and delivered his signature diving headbutt.

The Leader of the Royal Flush started to work on the arm of Ralph throughout the match. At one point, he delivered a ‘diamond dust’ armdrag variation from the turnbuckle to add more pain to his opponent’s hurt arm. He would continue his assault on the champ’s arm, even tweaking his fingers to further punish the champion. Bryan Leo, with Ralph on the corner, attempted to deliver the First World Express. Just like his previous attempts, he missed the mark as Ralph Imabayashi got out of the way. Imabayashi attempted to strike Leo, but he was sent down to the mat once more by the former champion. Bryan Leo delivered a couple of headbutts on the PWR Champion before he connected with a Perfectplex (A cradle suplex). Ralph kicked out at 2. Bryan Leo attempted 2 more Perefectplexes on the champion, but they brought about the same result. A frustrated Bryan Leo started to argue with the referee before he noticed Ralph stirring about. Leo quickly downed Ralph to the mat with a DDT and pinned him. The champ kicked out at 2 yet again and he started to ‘Hulk Up’. He backed Leo into the corner and began his patented assault in the corner (clothesline, running elbow, bicycle kick and knee strike).

With Bryan Leo on the mat, the PWR Champion reached the ‘second floor’ and delivered a beautiful flying knee drop for a two count. Bryan Leo tried to end things with a Royal Flushdown, but Ralph countered it with a Sonic Crusher attempt. Leo avoided that fate by raking the eye of his opponent. Blinded, Ralph unwittingly knocked out the official with a Sonic Crusher! He eventually reached Leo and blasted the challenger with a Sonic Crusher as well. Sadly, with the referee out cold, there was no one to count the pinfall. All of a sudden, a masked man entered the ring and clocked the PWR Champion with the PWR belt.  Bryan Leo recovered just in time and delviered his finisher on the champion. The referee was revived and he counted the 1-2-3 for Bryan Leo to win and receive his second reign as the PWR Champion. After losing to Ralph Imabayashi last December, the King of the Royal Flush finally got his revenge (and the crown).

pwr-vendetta-2-royal-flush-ralphPeter Versoza reveals himself as the masked man and the NEWEST member of the Royal Flush

The end of the match saw the Royal Flush enter the ringside area to celebrate with their newly crowned King. Bryan Leo introduced us to the newest member of the Flush, and their newest Jack of all trades: Peter Versoza. The former Dual Shock member became the fifth member to finally complete the Royal Flush. The Flush would try to decimate the former champion, Ralph Imabayashi, in the ring. However, JDL re-entered ringside to confront the group. This was met with an attack by the new member Peter Versoza. PV grabbed a hold of JDL and sent him down with his patented double knee gutbuster known as the Karne Norte.

I have to admit that PWR Vendetta 2 took my breath away from start to finish. The Champion vs Champion match and the PV vs Crystal match were tied for Match of the Night in this writer’s humble opinion. Peter Versoza was the man of the night. First of all, his match with Crystal was one of the 2 matches of the night due to the intensity and how everyone got behind it. Secondly, he made a huge impact in the main event and contributed to Bryan Leo getting his second reign as PWR Champion. Finally, as the new jack, he just re-ignited his rivalry with former PWR Champion Ralph Imabayashi and a possible Versoza vs Imabayashi II in the near future is all good for me. Once more I’d like to thank the hard working men and women of the PWR for putting on another exciting show.
