#1 Contenders Match: Ralph Imabayashi vs John Sebastian

The new “Ace”, or “Ace Hole” as the Royal Flush wanted the crowd to sing along to, would go toe to toe against a familiar face, Ralph Imabayashi. Both men have fought each other in the ring before and this time, the stakes couldn’t be any higher. Sebastian and Imabayashi went on a chop party on each other for the first moments of the matchup. Sebastian would deliver a hard knee to the stomach of Ralph to get the advantage moments later. Running fameasser by Ralph Imabayashi had John Sebastian reeling. Ralph punished John Sebastian with a flurry of kicks, but the Royal Flush member fought back yet again with some hard strikes. John Sebastian made a fatal mistake as he missed a dropkick on the corner and Ralph Imabayashi took advantage with a running boot to one of John Sebastian’s exposed leg. The fight spilled outside momentarily and it was a close call for one of the kids in attendance as John Sebastian crashed on the VIP stage area. Both men returned to the ring and Ralph Imabayashi continued to work on Sebastian’s legs. John Sebastian powered out of the move and would do his ‘Cena’ combo (translation: 2 flying shoulder tackles and a cenaplex). John Sebastian topped his combo off with a running knee drop on Ralph Imabayashi. Imabayashi caught Sebastian with a sharpshooter and the new Ace struggled to reach the ropes. At one point, John Sebastian delivered the Attitude Adjustment and drew a lot of “John Sebastian” chants from the audience. Things looked grim for Ralph after John Sebastian delivered a painful looking tombstone piledriver on him. However, he surprised John Sebastian and everyone else with a Sonic Crusher…OUTTA NOWHERE!~ 1-2-3 and Ralph Imabayashi was crowned the no. 1 contender to Bryan Leo’s prized possession. The Royal Flush stormed into ringside, however, and Ralph became victim of the Deadman’s Hand.

For the PHX Championship: Ken Warren © vs Chris Panzer

The Warren-Panzer rivalry continued in PWR Live as the two men squared off for the PHX belt. This match is also significant due to the fact that this is their fourth time competing against each other with Panzer leading 2-1 in the series. Both men started things off with some basic armbar reversals and lockups. It was a pretty even fight in the early going until Ken Warren got the advantage. Warren delivered a crisp backstabber on Panzer but only garnered a 2 count. Chris Panzer and Ken Warren’s fight spilled to the outside for a short moment and the leader of the Panzer Army took control. Panzer dragged the Social Media Sinister back into the ring and hit him with his patented frogsplash. Ken Warren powered out of the pin before the count of 3.

Panzer would be in control of the match and was about to finish things off with his patented Panzerschreck, but the Fighters 4 Hire caused a momentary distraction. Panzer took care of Joey Bax with a boot to the face, but that was the window of opportunity that Ken Warren needed to take control of the match. Warren downed Panzer with a low blow and retained the PHX title with his WiFi for the pinfall victory. The Warren-Panzer saga is now at an even 2-2.

SANDATA vs Peter Versoza

Former tag team partners SANDATA and Peter Versoza squared off inside the iAcademy Auditorium to settle who the better wrestler is. SANDATA surprised Versoza early after he dropkicked his former partner off the apron and went on to deliver a splash from the top rope and onto the outside. SANDATA took full control of the match, peppering Peter with some kicks. SANDATA delivered a mighty clothesline for the pin, but it only got a 2 count. Peter Versoza displayed his agility, landing on his feet from a hiptoss and delivering one of his own on SANDATA. Versoza displayed his strength with a torture rack-to-neckbreaker maneuver on SANDATA. Peter climbed up to the top rope and did his own rendition of Booker T’s Houston/Harlem Hangover for the pin. SANDATA, however, wouldn’t be taken away that easily as he got an arm up by 2. SANDATA fought back with a springboard attack on his former partner.

PWR LiveVersoza goes to the top

The Masked Warrior of the PWR dropped Peter face first on the mat with a hurracanrana. Versoza got back in control and delivered a pedigree on SANDATA, but only got a two count. SANDATA trapped Versoza to the mat with a cobra clutch-like hold, but it was broken up soon enough. Peter Versoza delivered a nasty stomach breaker on SANDATA but only got a two count. SANDATA tried to sneak a win as he rolled up Versoza, but only got a 2. Peter Versoza ended things by connecting with a second pedigree, getting the pinfall victory over SANDATA. Some interesting things to note during this match were SANDATA’s new mask and Peter’s interesting DX-Tokusatsu t-shirt.

PWR Live

For the PWR Championship: “Classical” Bryan Leo vs ???

The PWR Champion entered ringside with the Royal Flush and issued an open challenge to ANYONE in the backstage area (except JDL, Bombay…or Apocalypse) to fight him in a title match. The challenge would be answered by PWR’s resident promdi…MARK D. MANALO!

PWR Live

For the PWR Championship: “Classical” Bryan Leo vs Mark D. Manalo

The PWR fan favorite, Mark D. Manalo, stepped up to the plate and faced Bryan Leo in PWR Live’s main event. Leo ordered the challenger to lie down several times, but D. Manalo was rather hard of hearing. Eventually he accepted the order and lied down for the PWR champion to pin him. Mark D. Manalo would take Leo by surprise as he trapped the champion into an armlock once he rolled out of the pinning position. Bryan Leo and Mark D. Manalo would trade some slaps, chops and holds at the early going of the matchup. Mark D. Manalo would deliver a round of jabs to his opponent, but the champion ended his momentum with some offense of his own. Mark D. Manalo grounds Bryan Leo with a suplex and would try to gain momentum. His momentum would be stopped, however, as Bryan Leo trapped him into a crossface. Mark D. Manalo reversed the submission hold into a pinfall for 2. Mark D. Manalo’s effort to get back into the match was once again thwarted with a Bryan Leo face rake. Bryan Leo attacked a grounded Mark D. Manalo with his diving headbutt. Leo started to work on his opponent’s legs with a bridged version of a leglock, adding more pain to the legs of Mark D. Manalo. Bryan Leo stalked his prey and prepared for a running double knee smash on the corner, but he missed his mark.

Mark D. Manalo walked into yet another submission by Bryan Leo, this time in a figure four leglock. He fought off the maneuver and would shock everyone with a stunner on Leo. Mark D. Manalo was on fire, delivering some hard hits to Bryan Leo before he ended it with the bionic elbow. Mark D. Manalo tried to put on the Manalo Lock on the PWR Champion, but it was reversed by Leo with a leg lock. A minute or two later, Bryan Leo delivered an elevated single leg crab called the ‘Royal Prison Lock’ to force his challenger to tap out.

PWR-Live-New-Ring-New-Venue-Same-Revolution-Royal-Flush-MarkThe Royal Flush has Mark D. Manalo in their clutches

The Royal Flush swarmed on the prone Mark D. Manalo, but was stopped by Apocalypse. Apocalypse entered the ring and delivered the Death Bell on Mark D. Manalo, extracting his revenge from Mark’s interference from the last event. Apocalypse wasn’t done as he cleared the ring out against the PWR ring officials and bouncers. Upon his exit, the Royal Flush re-entered the ring to punish D. Manalo, only to be interrupted by Bombay and JDL.

PWR LiveRalph Imabayashi with the PWR Title

The Royal Flush would try to outnumber the 3 good guys, until the no. 1 contender himself stormed into the ring and delivered Sonic Crushers to the Royal Flush. They eventually chase the Royal Flush out of the ring. Ralph momentarily had the PWR title on his grasps before he tossed it back to the champion, proclaiming that it will be his come Terminus.

Closing Thoughts

The second edition of PWR Live was a huge set up for the future of the PWR as a whole. With the new venue and ring in place, PWR is totally setting up something big for its Revo-nation for Terminus and for the next year. PWR Live also had a few celebrity guests in attendance to the delight of the crowd (JOJO THE LOVE SURVIVOR FOR THE WIN!). I salute the hard working men and women of PWR and wish them the best in the upcoming events. Thank you for giving wheninmanila.com a chance to cover one of PWR’s historic nights in its debut at the iACADEMY Auditorium. From the looks of things, PWR Terminus 2 will prove to be one epic year ending show for PWR.
