In her post, she wrote: “No one asked you to go to a rally. Obviously, you don’t need to go out to use your voice for the voiceless. But making up an excuse to save face at the expense of those who are fighting for their lives is purely disgusting.”

It is unclear who she was referring to, but many netizens noticed that it was coincidentally posted after young actress Jane De Leon shared her opinion about those protesting on the streets to express outrage against the ABS-CBN shutdown.

“My support to the current crisis that the network is facing right now is not just measured by going out in the streets in this time of pandemic,” she said in a statement.

“We can show our support in many ways. Let us not be judgmental and imposing on what others should do according to personal standards and beliefs. Wag po sanang mangibabaw ang galit sa ating puso, bagkus ay pairalin natin ang respeto sa isa’t-isa at umasang malalampasan din natin lahat ito [Let’s not allow ourselves be overwhelmed by the anger in our hearts, but rather, let’s have respect for each other and have hope that we can get through all this],” she added.

Angel started trending online when she made an impassioned speech during a noise barrage for ABS-CBN on Saturday, July 18, where she called out showbiz stars for not using their platforms to speak out against the injustices happening around them.

Sa lahat ng artistang hindi nagsasalita, ano? May career pa ba kayo? Wala na, wala na kayong network,” she had said. “Kahit magpa-cute kayo diyan sa Instagram, mag-send kayo ng mga sad face — hindi niyo nadadamayan ang mga katrabaho niyong dahilan kung bakit kayo sumikat.

[“To all the artists who aren’t speaking out, what now? Do you still have a career? You have none now, you now have no network. Even if you act cute on Instagram, send sad faces — you don’t empathize with your colleagues who helped you become famous.”]
