Indonesia isn’t just Bali. This Southeast Asian gem is made up of more than 17,000 islands, each with its own treasures.

And while Bali and Bintan might be the more famous names on the list, there’s a hidden paradise in North Sulawesi that’s quietly calling the shots for your next dream getaway.

Think crystal-clear waters teeming with marine life, powdery beaches, and views of mountains rising dramatically from the horizon. Now imagine all of that paired with a luxury all-inclusive resort that takes care of everything from your sunrise coffee to your sunset cocktails. Sounds like a plan?

That’s exactly what’s coming in 2028 with the highly anticipated opening of Club Med Manado, a brand-new luxury escape that promises to put North Sulawesi on every traveller’s radar.

Club Med’s big move in Indonesia

Club Med, a leader in premium all-inclusive holidays for 75 years, is no stranger to Indonesia. Their Bali resort has been a beloved getaway since 1984, followed by the coastal retreat in Bintan in 1997.

Now, they’re setting their sights on Manado with a resort that blends adventure, relaxation, and sustainable luxury in one of the country’s most captivating destinations.

The project is in partnership with PT Grahatama Kreasibaru (GKB), a pioneer in Indonesia’s hospitality scene known for developing iconic destinations.

Together, they’re not just building a resort. They’re aiming to create an upscale escape that’s deeply connected to the local environment and community.

Why North Sulawesi is the perfect spot

Often called the “Land of the Smiling People,” North Sulawesi is a haven for travellers who love the outdoors. Located just a 70-minute drive from Sam Ratulangi International Airport, Club Med Manado will give guests instant access to pristine reefs, vibrant marine life, and panoramic views of the Molucca Sea.

The resort will feature 250 rooms, all with direct views of either the sea or Mount Klabat, the province’s highest peak. Dining won’t just be about world-class international cuisine; expect bold and flavour-packed dishes from the local Manadonese culinary tradition.
