Start Your “Ber” Months Right With New and Upcoming Music From Taylor Swift, Maki, and More

The “ber” months are officially here, and you know what that means. Longer nights, shorter days, and a distinct chill in the air that summons Jose Mari Chan, Mariah Carey, and every other tell-tale sign of Christmas imaginable.

Kolorcoaster – Maki

This year, Maki is entering his most fruitful and exciting era yet with his fans, Zushis. Besides looking forward to Maki’s first studio album, Kolorcoaster, on September 19, 2025, fans are also bracing themselves for the Gen Z singer-songwriter’s solo concert of the same name on November 7, 2025, at the Araneta Coliseum. It’ll be his first major show at The Big Dome.

We can’t wait to experience Maki’s kaleidoscope of hit songs and yearning anthems through an even more vibrant lens. Needless to say, this is Maki’s world, and we’re all just living in it—at full brightness, that is.

Viñas Deluxe – Viñas Deluxe

The monumental wins keep on coming for one of Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale’s frontrunners, Viñas Deluxe. While our misis dominates the competition every week, her self-titled debut EP takes pride in all the lessons and experiences that define her journey of growth as a Filipino drag artist.

The Life of a Showgirl – Taylor Swift

The Life of a Showgirl, one of the most anticipated albums of 2025, is set to welcome us into one of Taylor Swift’s most lavish, opulent, and life-altering chapters so far as a music megastar.

This year, we’ve witnessed Taylor revel in the massive success of her almost two-year-long Eras Tour and buy back the rights to her iconic body of work. Soon, the whole world will tune in to watch her marry the love of her life, Travis Kelce. Swifties are still theorizing on the other tricks the “queen of easter eggs” has up her sleeves, and we can only hope that her new album will give them the answers they need once it’s out on October 3, 2025.

A Matter of Time – Laufey

August 22, 2025, was a one-of-a-kind date for “lover girls” around the world as they came together to celebrate the release of Laufey’s latest full-length album, A Matter of Time. The singer, songwriter, and storyteller tinkered with various genres, tones, and tempos to capture various forms of love in all their messy hues.

A Matter of Time has a track for every hopeless romantic whose feelings always find them in the trenches. For the skeptics who are still figuring yourselves out, “Carousel” will help your crushes get the memo. And if you’re mourning a friendship breakup (with even worse repercussions than a relationship), then “Castle in Hollywood” can give your memories a much-needed voice.

Man’s Best Friend – Sabrina Carpenter

Fresh off her MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) wins for Best Pop Artist and Album of the Year (for her previous album, Short n’ Sweet), Sabrina Carpenter continues to fulfill her “main pop girl” duties this year with her latest studio album, Man’s Best Friend

In this new album alone, Sabrina has shared the spotlight with emerging queer artists, chronicled our nightmarish universal experiences with toxic partners, and made the world a better place, one humiliated “manchild” at a time.

BITE ME – Reneé Rapp

Whether you’re at home or, in Reneé Rapp’s words, “across the f*cking country,” you’re more than welcome to let her match your freak with her latest album, BITE ME. Reneé’s unapologetic lyrics and daring storytelling never fail to prove that the girls—the sapphics, especially—keep on winning as long as she’s around.

Wishbone – Conan Gray

Conan Gray’s new 12-track album, Wishbone, has cemented his status as a prolific and poetic Gen Z singer-songwriter. Masterpieces arise whenever he taps into his feelings through music, and every song on Wishbone is no exception. We’ll always be in awe of his artistic growth since his debut album, Kid Krow, in 2020.

Midnight Sun – Zara Larsson

Tag-init season may be over, but the “hot girl summer” spirit lives on through Zara Larsson’s upcoming ten-track album, Midnight Sun. And trust us, once you listen to the lead single with the same name, there’s no turning back.

The “Midnight Sun” music video embodies the vibrant Lisa Frank aesthetic, complete with scenic backgrounds, glittery graphics, and neon colors. Remember the delightfully unhinged energy of the “Symphony” meme last year, which even reached Zara herself? Turn that iconic moment into a hyperpop song, and you get “Midnight Sun.”

We can’t wait for Zara to light up every party on the planet when her new album drops on September 26, 2025.
