Pinoy-Made Anime ‘Barangay 143’ is Coming to Netflix!

The first-ever anime series made by Filipinos is officially coming to Netflix!

“Barangay 143” is a sports-themed anime centered around our favorite sport, basketball, and follows the story of famous athlete Bren Park who moves to the Philippines from South Korea in search of his true family. But what he finds instead is an unlikely group of misfits who will eventually pull him back to the sport to help them achieve their dreams.

The series premiered on the GMA Network from October 2018 to June 2019 and features the voices of many well-known local actors such as Migo Adecer, Julie Anne San Jose, Ruru Madrid, John Arcilla, Edu Manzano, Lorna Tolentino, and Cherie Gil. Even local basketball pros Doug Kramer and Benjie Paras made cameo appearances!

“Barangay 143” will be available for streaming starting October 1.
