A Filipino couple who got married in prison went viral. The wedding took place in the Sto. Tomas Municipal Police Station in Pampanga.
According to a GMA Regional TV report, the groom has been in jail for almost a year after being involved in a case. This, however, did not stop him from pursuing marriage to his (now) bride.
The regional news broadcasting show interviewed Sto. Tomas MPC Chief PCPT. Glenn Santelices who shared that the groom asked for permission to get married there. He said that they were skeptical about the idea at first, but the couple seemed determined so they finally let them. The police captain also revealed that the bride was soon to fly abroad and hoped to get married before leaving the country.
With the help of a local pastor, the couple was able to tie the knot while the authorities made sure that they did not go against any policy.
They refused to be interviewed but it was reportedly a dream come true for the newlywed couple. Watch the full report below:
