The Philippines bagged multiple medals at the 13th ASEAN Para Games in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.

In a congratulatory post shared across social media platforms, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) announced that the country secured its best overall finish in the history of the Games since its inception, placing fourth in the medal race.

“Rewriting history,” PSC captioned its post. “From breaking the games records to sensational winning moments which brought the country to its defining moment ranking fourth in the overall standings—our best finish so far in the game’s history since 2001.”
As of January 26, Team Philippines has garnered a total of 134 medals—45 gold, 37 silver, and 52 bronze. Meanwhile, Thailand topped the standings with 486 medals.
Among the gold medalists at the 13th ASEAN Para Games were the Philippine para chess team, Kim Ian Chi and Patrick Eusebio in the mixed doubles TPB10+TPB10 para bowling event, as well as para wheelchair racers Cleford Trocino and Jerrold Pete Mangliwan in para athletics.
