When in BF, there’s an unending list of restaurants a foodie can choose from, but Papi Chulo’s should definitely be a priority. From chicharon bulaklak tacos to Wagyu asado tacos, this is definitely not your typical Mexican restaurant. Here, we have a fusion of Mexican and Filipino food that go undeniably well together. Papi Chulo’s, which translates to “sexy man”, is located along Aguirre street in BF Homes, Paranaque.
My friends and I decided to go to the place at around 5pm to avoid the big crowds that usually come at night. Only a few tables were occupied when we got there, but the place still felt so festive. Papi Chulo’s’ al fresco and rustic interiors contribute to the restaurant’s laid-ack ambiance. It is especially tempting to dropwith your friends during rainy days to have a few beers.

To start off, we got the Chicken Chimichanga and the ultimate Mexican restaurant staple, Nachos.
Truffle Elote (Php185)
If you want something lighter, try the Truffle Elote, a classic corn on the cob topped with a generous amount of truffle crema and dusted with parmesan cheese.
Chicharon Bulaklak Taco (Php125)
Something that excited us about Papi Chulo’s was their wide array of tacos that range from Php120 to Php170. The Chicharon Bulaklak taco, which was gone a few minutes after it was served, is definitely a favorite with its interesting Mexican twist to a Filipino favorite.

Also try the Chicken Carage Taco and Wagyu Asado Taco, which are new additions to Papi Chulo’s’ mouthwatering menu. The Wagyu Asado Taco, though on the pricier end, is worth every peso with wagyu that melts in your mouth complemented by the crunch of the potato strings.
Chamoy Short Plate (Php260)
For the main dishes, we got the Chamoy Short Plate that my friends describe as “fancy corned beef”. This dish ise the type that all your friends will take turns Instagramming with its vibrant colors and neat plating. Also, trust me when I say that it tastes even better than it looks.
Chicken Fajita Rice Bowl (Php215)
We also got the Chicken Fajita Rice Bowl and though it looks small, it takes about two people to finish it since it is very filling.
You can enjoy this restaurant’s laidback vibe and cool breeze along with your friends any time of year.
Papi Chulo’s will definitely not disappoint and will leave you and your stomach more than satisfied.
