As the home of the Blue Eagle math majors and math enthusiasts, the Ateneo Mathematics Society (AMS) conducts programs and projects that pursue its advocacies for math excellence, math appreciation, and math education. Aside from being a math org, AMS is conducting initiatives for the benefit of its members as well as Ateneans in general; and in this time of a pandemic, the public is in for a special treat.
AMS proudly launches Sweet Escape 2021 – a themed fundraising initiative to be conducted during the semester’s midweek season. It aims to give care and support to Ateneans who are suffering from their hell week full of requirements and deadlines. For the past few years, this event is comprised of selling sweet treats and baked goods within the campus vicinity. To adjust to the situation ongoing pandemic and to comply with guidelines set to prevent community transmission, this year’s Sweet Escape will offer care packages that will be ordered online and delivered to the customer’s home.
Vince Lee and Chelsea Go, this year’s Project Heads of Sweet Escape, along with the rest of the core team, aim to provide a successful event and to provide a one-of-a-kind experience for people who’d wish to find a ‘sweet escape’ during lockdown. The team’s hopes are high despite facing challenges such as transitioning the project to the new normal setting, and adapting to online procedures all while planning and executing the event from miles apart.
Sweet Escape 2021 will open to the public this coming March and those interested can order the care package of their choosing through the AMStore on Shopee (shopee.ph/amstoreadmu) and Google Forms (http://bit.ly/SEOrder).
