ONE FC: Moment of Truth Holds Largest MMA Open Workout in Manila

When In Manila, you have got to experience watching a live action-packed  MMA event- especially from ONE Fighting Championship! Before we greet 2014 with a bang, one of the world’s most exciting mixed martial arts organization will hold ONE FC: Moment of Truth, a 10-match card that will ultimately feature our very own Honorio Banario against Koji Oishi. But before bodies bang in the circle, some of the fighters from the December 6 affair starred in MMA’s largest open workout held at the atrium of Resorts World Manila last November 28, 2013. Top international and local stars such as Alain Ngalani, Kevin Belingon, Caros Fodor, Ruel Catalan and  Honorio Banario exhibited their skills to the fans and media present.

When this guy above entered the stage, everyone was just in awe of how ripped he is. His name is Alain Ngalani, a Muaythai and kickboxing champion who will go toe-to-toe with Paul Cheng in one of the two undercard bouts set for ONE FC: Moment of Truth. When asked questions regarding his fitness regimen, Ngalani confessed that he eats SIX white eggs every morning and takes 5-6 meals per day (woah!). Nonetheless, he said that he’s ready to take on Cheng at the Mall of Asia Arena and he’s also ready to showcase his moves to get the big W. I’m hoping to see the Ngalani spinning heel kick that stole the show in one of his previous fights!

Up next was Philippines’ first MMA world champion, Honorio Banario,who will headline the ONE FC: Moment of Truth main event against the Japanese tormentor Koji Oishi for the ONE FC Featherweight World Championship. Banario shared that his fight (and the other members of Team Lakay’s) on December 6 will be offered to the victims of Typhoon Yolanda; Banario also said that they may not be able to give financial aid, but they will offer all their energy and heart to their kababayans. Furthermore, the Filipino champion was also asked what three tips he could give to aspiring MMA fighter. His answers: discipline, focus, and constant prayers.

Succeeding were the open workouts and interviews of the URCC Flyweight Champion Kevin Belingon, the UFC veteran Caros Fodor and the World Wushu Champion Ruel Catalan. Belingon is set to battle David Aranda in ONE FC: Moment of Truth’s co-main event for the Bantamweight division, Fodor prepares to face Muay Thai specialist Vuyisilie Colossa in the Lightweight division, while Catalan, the brother of Rene Catalan, is scheduled to take his brother’s place in the much-anticipated rematch against Cambodia’s Khim Dima in the Flyweight division.
