On YouTube, the group unveiled a 59-second video titled “2026 Summer of NewJeans,” while individual portraits of members Haerin, Hyein, Minji, and Hanni were cross-posted across their official social media pages.
These posts mark the group’s first activity on social media after two months of inactivity. Their last upload prior to the surprise fourth-anniversary release was a set of photos of Haerin celebrating her 20th birthday on May 15.
This is also the group’s first official content together, following their legal dispute with label ADOR since November 2024.
After months of legal disputes over their exclusive contracts, a Seoul court upheld the validity of the agreements, allowing Haerin, Hyein, Minji, and Hanni to resume their activities with ADOR in October 2025. Two months later, the label officially terminated Danielle’s contract, making NewJeans a four-member group.
Meanwhile, the label filed a lawsuit against Danielle, an unnamed member of her family, and former NewJeans producer Min Hee-jin, seeking damages for allegedly breaching their contracts.
Formerly a five-member group, NewJeans gained international acclaim following the release of their chart-topping hits, including “Ditto,” “Attention,” “Hype Boy,” and “Cookie,” among others.
