New Hope Club made sure that their fourth visit to Manila was unlike any other. Arriving at night on June 5, the three-piece band whose members are Blake Richardson, George Smith, and X-Factor UK alum Reece Bibby had a lot in store for fans prior to their scheduled concert at the New Frontier Theatre two days later.
On June 6, the boys hailing from Northern England took over the Araneta Coliseum ticket booth to personally hand the tickets of those who purchased. On the morning of June 7, they guested on a popular radio program to answer a few questions from fans while in the afternoon, they held a busking at the top floor of a mall in Bonifacio Global City where they performed a few songs.
Manila is the first destination of the Love Again Tour in Asia where they opened with the song โCrazyโ followed by โMedicine.โ
They also performed three covers from songs of fellow boy bands. The first of which is a funky cover of The Beetleโs โI Want To Hold Your Handโ, then โIโm So Tiredโฆโ by Lauv and Troye Sivan. The former held his first arena show just three weeks prior.
Their last cover was a song from The Vamps whom they had a chance of opening for during their October 2017 show in Manila โ this instance was also New Hope Clubโs first visit to the Philippines.
Their latest single โPermissionโ was a crowd favorite. The track consistently graced the top charts of several radio stations at the time of its release.
New Hope Club concluded the night with an encore performance of โPerfumeโ and โFixedโ, two of their first ever singles.
With a growing social media following and increasing listeners on music streaming platforms, there is no other way but up for New Hope Club this 2019. The Love Again Tour will continue touring to other parts of the world. The Europe leg begins on June 21, followed by some parts of US and Canada, and will conclude in their region of origin, UK and Ireland.
