Neri Naig and Bituin Escalante Recall Photo Opportunity With Lea Salonga

Following the now-deleted viral video of fans insisting on taking a photo with Lea Salonga in her dressing room, actress Neri Naig and singer-actress Bituin Escalante recalled having a photo opportunity with the Broadway star from her past concerts and musical shows.

Naig said she previously watched Salonga’s concert with her husband, Chito Miranda, and got the chance to have a photo opportunity with her. She pointed out that they didn’t go to her dressing room even if Miranda knew the Broadway star personally.

[sic] she wrote.

The actress also emphasized that the fans patiently waited for Salonga to meet them outside, where she granted each one’s photo opportunity request.

Let us all be nice,” [sic] she added.

Meanwhile, Escalante shared photos of her and her family with Salonga after the latter’s performance at the musical show Sweeney Todd in Singapore. She said prior to the show, they asked the production nicely if there would be a chance to take a photo with the cast.

“Not one to use her privilege either, when she comes out to support local productions, she usually hangs back during post show meet and greets and waits her turn to say hello to the cast,” she added in the replies.

After the recent fiasco sparked discussions online, Salonga spoke up about the importance of boundaries and reminded her fans not to cross them through a Twitter post.
