MWF Championship Tournament – I Quit Match: Frankie Thurteen vs. Rex Lawin (w/ Coach Gus Queens)
This was one of MWF’s most brutal and emotionally charged matches to date. Both wrestlers gave it their all just to advance in the MWF Championship Tournament. The match quickly descended to a brawl outside of the ring with Frankie Thurteen flying off the apron towards Rex Lawin. Lawin caught Frankie and punished him outside. The Grunge Grappler fought back and countered an attempt of Rex to send him down on the MWF stage. Both men returned to the ring where Rex Lawin was a recipient of an Angel Bullet Stomp while he was stuck in the ring corner.

Rex Lawin used a steel chain to assault and choke Frankie around ringside. Frankie Thurteen would get the chain and take Lawin down numerous times with some chain-wrapped clotheslines. Rex Lawin captured Frankie and leveled him with a Rex Trigger Superkick. Lawin chained Frankie on one corner and would then procure Frankie’s painting named “Adrianne”. Frankie was forced to say “I Quit” after Rex did some horrible things to Adrianne, which culminated with Rex smashing the painting over Frankie’s head.

Mr. Philippine Wrestling Arrives!
The current Philippine Wrestling Revolution (PWR) PHX Champion, “The Senyorito” Jake de Leon, made his special MWF appearance. The man known as “Mr. Philippine Wrestling” told everyone that he was here to catch up with a few friends from MWF who were fellow pioneers in the PH Pro Wrestling scene. Mr. Lucha entered ringside to interrupt JDL and berated the Senyorito. Mr. Lucha said that he hated JDL and demanded him to leave ringside.

The two had a brief brawl until Mr. Lucha delivered a low blow that disarmed JDL. Mr. Lucha left the ring and was verbally reprimanded by a very angry William Elvin, MWF’s Creative Director, on his way out.

Martivo vs. Hanzello Shilva
Martivo of PWR was the surprise opponent for Hanzello Shilva. Shilva delivered a flurry of strikes while he cornered his opponent. Martivo made a quick comeback and delivered some hard chest chops outside the ring. Hanzello was quick to deliver more hard hitting strikes to the Man-Doll in the ring and was about to finish him off. Martivo used his veteran instincts to capture Hanzello in an armbar maneuver to get the submission victory.
After the match, Martivo told Hanzello that he had the purest of hearts in the MWF and that Hanzello shouldn’t give up.

MWF Championship Tournament – 2 out of 3 Falls: Robin Sane d. Ninja Ryujin
The two best friends squared off in a very tightly contested match up. Ryujin displayed his speed at the start of the match as he escaped the headlocks of Robin Sane with ease. Robin Sane connected with the 450 Splash, but it would be Ryujin who rolled him up in a crucifix position to get the first fall. The second fall saw Robin Sane getting even as he delivered a quick suplex-back suplex combo on Ninja. Robin Sane was taken off the corner via a hurracanrana by Ryujin and gets hit with the Asai DDT! Robin Sane delivered a surprise rollup Ninja to make it a 1-1 tie!

The final fall featured a strike fest between the two in the middle of the ring. Robin Sane caught Ryujin and hit him with the spinning sit-down powerbomb for a 2 count. Sane blocked an Asai DDT attempted and tried to deliver a Samoan drop, only to be rolled up for 2. Robin Sane got the win and advances to the next round after delivering the Spider Driver on Ryujin for the pinfall. “Danger” Rex Lawin stormed to ringside and assaulted Robin Sane after the match.

The Eurasian Dragon vs. Mr. Lucha
The Eurasian Dragon from Singapore Pro Wrestling (SPW) made his return to MWF after his tag team main event match last April. He told Mr. Lucha that this match would be a no holds barred match. Dragon took the pain to Mr. Lucha by slamming Lucha’s leg on the ring post. The two brawled outside the Eurasian Dragon continued his assault on his masked opponent. Dragon started to punish Mr. Lucha inside the MWF ring with a Singapore Cane. Mr. Lucha got the win over the Eurasian Dragon after hitting him with a low blow and two successive choke slams for the pinfall.

Jake de Leon returned to the ring and delivered a Senyorito Kick and an Alipin Drop to Mr. Lucha after the match. MWF 4 came to a close as JDL and the Eurasian Dragon stood tall over Mr. Lucha.

MWF 4: Road to Fate was a show that had a mix of great pro wrestling action and some entertaining video segments. I really enjoyed the videos they played in between the matches such as a Star Wars inspired action video entitled Sagot Kita 4: Ok Ka Stryker Ko and the Out and About segment which reminded me of the “Queer Eye” TV series. Overall, I would like to say I loved the show in its entirety.

I would like to thank the people from the Manila Wrestling Federation for inviting us to one amazing professional wrestling spectacle that was MWF 4: Road to Fate. Their next show will be MWF 5: Todos Los Wrestling on October 28, 2018 at U.P. Diliman. If you haven’t watched an MWF show, I highly recommend that you do.
