The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) keeps firm to its decision on disqualifying the film “Honor Thy Father” for the Best Picture race.
In an executive committee statement released via MMFF’s Facebook page, they emphasized that the penalty they applied in disqualifying Honor Thy Father is light and they could have applied a heavier sanction such as total disqualification. Honor Thy Father was “slated to have an exhibition and was actually shown at the Cinema One Film Festival held on November 8, 2015,” which is a non-compliance on MMFF’s rules.
Here’s a copy of the whole statement.
