Michelle Dee is addressing unsolicited opinions and intrusive questions head-on in her latest single, “Makatanong.” The Miss Universe Philippines 2023 titleholder dropped the music video on April 24, 2026, coinciding with her 31st birthday.

Dee is credited as a co-producer of both the song and its music video. In a behind-the-scenes clip, she reflected on the creative process, saying that while writing her own music might seem easier, it still came with challenges—though it was ultimately a meaningful experience for her.
The music video presents Dee through a series of sleek, composed visuals, including scenes in which she appears to address a press crowd from a podium. A mock newspaper headline framing her “official statement” adds to the narrative of responding to public scrutiny.
In an ABS-CBN News report, Dee shared that “Makatanong” draws from personal challenges she faced earlier this year. She described the song as being about choosing what to engage with and where to invest energy, while allowing time to reveal the truth.
“It was a very tough start [to] the year for me. And you know, the bottom line of this song is really, you know, everybody is entitled to their opinion, but not everyone is entitled to your energy,” she said.
“I’ve always said all throughout my showbiz career that I only listen to opinions that matter, people that I know have [the] best interest at heart for me,” Dee added.
