Michael De Mesa has been stranded on the road due to massive floods caused by Super Typhoon Carina on July 24. The veteran actor took to social media to share his experience.
He said he was on his way home after his taping packed up at 2:30 p.m. in Cainta, Rizal. Unfortunately, his car malfunctioned as he braved the waist-deep flood and heavy rain.
“The roads are impassable due to waist-deep flooding, and my car has malfunctioned from the water I had to drive through earlier. Itโs nighttime now, and I havenโt eaten,” he captioned his first post. “I guess we definitely shouldnโt have gone to work today.”
He even shared clips of being stuck on the road with other motorists and noted he had been there for five hours.
“There’s no sign of the flood receding. Oh, my God, and my car is malfunctioning,” he expressed in the video.

On his next Instagram post, dated July 25, De Mesa emphasized he had been stranded for 17 hours, and the tow truck couldn’t get through to pick him up, which triggered his anxiety.
“Naiiyak na ako [I’m about to cry]. The tow truck canโt get through, and my anxiety is kicking in. I just want to go home,” he wrote.
In the comments section, his wife, Julie Eigenmann, replied, “Praying youโll be home soon, my love. Hang in there.”

After more than 22 hours, he was finally towed. The actor then thanked those who reached out to him to offer assistance and send heartfelt messages.
“I deeply appreciate your kindness and support. My thoughts and prayers are with those in more difficult situations. Stay safe, everyone,” he concluded.

Metro Manilaย was placed under a state of calamity as Typhoon Carina hit the country. It had already left the Philippine area of responsibility at around 6 a.m. today, July 25.
