Megaworld Lifestyle Malls’ Cool Christmas with Ice Beat Factory
If you have been walking around Eastwood or Mckinley lately, you might have seen Ice Beat Factory. Ice Beat Factory consists of multimedia performers from LA who combine the power and elegance of ice sculpting with live music using unique instruments and costumes.
Shoppers were in for a treat as the show was for free and had two shows a day.
They started with these blocks of ice stacked on top of each other.
Master Sculptor Max Zulueta started shaping the ice with a chainsaw and if you were sitting in the front row, you’d feel some snow or cold water sprinkles hit you.
We had no idea what he was going to sculpt but because he was in the Philippines, he thought of making Filipino-themed sculptures like this one.
After chopping off some parts of the ice and sawing here and there, he added final touches to it with patterns similar to our traditional kalesa.
The ice sculpture looked extra beautiful because of the music and the lights.
Just look at the intricate details!
And every time the lights changed, the sculpture looked more beautiful and whimsical.
This is the finished product. Just look at the details on that kalesa! It even looks a little like our wheninmanila.com logo!
Ice Beat Factory was founded by Max Zulueta and acclaimed composer/director Nima Rezai. They tour all around the world capturing the hearts of those who love music and the art of sculpting.
