In celebration of the 117th year of Independence, MEGA, the Philippines’ best fashion magazine celebrated the MEGA Pinoy Pride last June 12, 2015 at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La.
It has been the tradition of MEGA to acknowledge global Pinoys and their accomplishments in the global arena, but this year, MEGA honored the new Filipino game changers who are putting the Philippines in the global map. These radical individuals are making a tangible difference in the lives of Filipinos.
The event started with the entering of the Philippine flag carried by Alonzo Muhlach followed by the Lupang Hinirang sang by One of MEGA Man’s June 2015 issue cover, Markki Stroem. And to formally welcome the guests, MEGA’s Editor-in-chief Ms. Peewee Reyes-Isidro took the stage for her welcoming salute.
Before the awarding started, KZ Tandingan brought the house down with her rendition of the Pinoy hits Mga Kababayan Ko and Tayo’y Mga Pinoy.
The awarding started and this year’s Pinoy Pride awardees include the famous choreographer Georcelle Dapat-Sy who also graced the stage with a powerful dance performance together with the G-Force, founding editor of PhilSTAR Supreme and a proud eventologist Tim Yap, founder of Happy Skin cosmetic brand Rissa Mananquil Trillo and Jacque Yuentian-Gutierrez, Chairman and CEO of Jollibee Foods Corportion Francis Flores, the owners of Holy Carabao, Ministry Mushrooms, and Juju Eats Hindy Tantonco, Marco Lobregat, and David and Kath Azanza, and a well–known fashion designer Michael Cinco with an exclusive collection of his couture creations. Rhea Matute, Antoinette Jadaone and Dan Villegas, Cristalle Belo, Rachelle Ann Go, Gab Valenciano’s awards, on the other hand, were accepted by their friends, colleagues, and families on their behalf.
It has been a historic event as MEGA, together with the new Filipino game changers, trudged towards the New Ph.
