Manila Mayor Erap Ejercito Estrada leads the inspection of the Lawton Underpass which was brought attention by netizens last week as passerby were appalled by the situation of the said underpass as people who have made it a home already. See the post and click here.
Lighting fixtures and public safety to prevent crime was also the focus of the Mayor’s inspection.

Mahusay lang iyan sa tri-media interview. Napakatagal ng ang Lacson underpass ginawa ng tirahan ng mga snatchers, holdapers, namamalimos, vendors na pag-gising sa umaga ang mga nasa isip kung sino ang mabibiktima. Erap kung hindi pa na media hindi ka kikilos!

it’s not immediate, the whole area has been like that for years and it has got worse since he came to power. The whole area around Lawton is dirty and presents a very poor image of Manila (Gates of Hell). The underpasses, the greeen areas are full of squatters, the drains in that are don’t work and flood even after just a small amount of rain. I’m not impressed by the time taken to visit it, he didn’t need to visit it, the engineering department should be maintaining on a regular basis. The visit was for publicity purposes only.
