On June 29, Matet went live on TikTok to host a livestream selling canned goods and groceries, but she suddenly cried while promoting one of the products.

@jm2024shop KAKAPASOK KO LANG SA LIVE NI MISS MATET, KASI BIBILI AKO PANGPANCAKE,MAY NABASH SA KANYA,TUNGKOL SA NANAY NIYA. GRABE SILA!KAYA UMIYAK SIYA SA LIVE😢 #fyp #viral ♬ original sound – Mery Aragon

“Hindi ko alam bakit may mga taong naliligayahan sa sarili nila nang ganon. Patay nanay ko. Patay! Wala nanay ko, gaganyanin niyo ako (I don’t know why some people find joy in acting like that. My mother is dead. She’s dead! My mom is gone, and you treat me like this),” she emphasized.

She later said: “Maraming salamat sa lahat nang hindi nagco-comment nang mali. Nagtatrabaho lang nang maayos eh (Thank you to everyone who is not leaving mean comments. I’m just working here).”

Apparently, the livestream was met with insensitive comments from viewers, such as “Suplada ‘to, kaya iniwan ni ate Guy (She’s snobbish, that’s why Ate Guy left her)” and “Wala na kayo project (You don’t have a project)?”

In a separate TikTok video, the actress reiterated that she is not embarrassed by doing live selling.

“Hindi ako naiyak sa live dahil nahihiya ako mag-live, (I did not cry because I was embarrassed to go live) okay?” she stressed. “Kasi ako, proud na proud ako maging live seller ng TikTok, ng mga brands na pinapaniwalaan ko (As for me, I’m very proud to be a live seller on TikTok and to represent the brands I believe in).”

She later explained the reason why she was emotional during her livestream: “Kaya ako na-badtrip kahapon (The reason I was in a bad mood was) because of that one person na walang puso at napaka-walang hiya (who is heartless and has no shame), pero ‘yung pagla-live sell—I love it!

She also expressed her gratitude to everyone supporting her journey as a live seller. At the same time, she also shared that she would try to avoid reading unnecessary and mean comments from critics.

“Masasabi ko lang doon sa mga gusto lang mamikon sa taong nagtatrabaho lang nang maayos at ginagawa ‘yung gustong gusto niya, eh wala babawasan ko ‘yung pagbabasa ng comments and I will do my best para hindi masira ‘yung trabaho kong gustong gusto kong ginagawa nang dahil sa inyo (All I can say to those who just want to pick on someone who’s working hard: I’ll just avoid reading comments, and I’ll do my best not to let people like you negatively affect my job).”

The TikTok video, which garnered over half a million views, was met with encouraging comments. Fans and followers praised her authenticity and resilience, as well as her impressive skills as a live seller.

Nora Aunor passed away on April 16 at the age of 71 due to acute respiratory failure. The late superstar has five kids, including Matet and Lotlot de Leon.
