Mariott Manila Hotel: Perfect Hotel Getaway within the Metro

When in Manila and in need of a break, staying over at the Marriott Hotel Manila would be a great idea. It’s very accessible if you’re coming from any of the NAIA terminals as there are free airport shuttle’s that will take you directly from the airport to the hotel.

My husband and I have been meaning to go on a mini break and well, Marriott was our  perfect Hotel getaway. It’s literally five minutes away from Manila’s Central Business district and right beside Manila’s hottest casino entertainment complex Resorts World, so really,  the airport just across and the mall are just some of the many bonuses of staying at the Marriott Hotel. There are also free shuttles that could take you to different areas around the metro, you just need to apply for a membership at the resorts world, easy peasy!

The Marriott Manila hotel has the usual amenities you would expect from a five star hotel, there’s a salon, a gym, a spa, a pool, a business center, great restaurants just downstairs and even access to the mall and casino next door. The bedroom is also quite nice, we had a view of the Villamor golf course and the beautiful skyline of the whole of Metro Manila. The bathroom was quite interesting, you could leave the curtain panel up if you wanted to have the view of that beautiful skyline as you soak yourself in a warm hot bath or leave it down if you wanted more privacy (especially if you have friends or family who are visiting).

For the rest of our Marriott Manila afternoon, my husband and I just visited next door for a movie and a little bit of shopping. For dinner, we had a great time catching up over a wonderful dinner at the hotel’s CRU Steakhouse (more on that next week!).

The next day, we had breakfast reservations at the Marriott Cafe and being a person big on breakfast, I didn’t want to miss this one. Guys, it was worth it. If you love breakfast, this place is a must try! The breakfast buffet had a wide array of choices and you just wouldn’t be able to help but try everything they had (it was near impossible but hey, someone had to do it). From all kinds of cereals, to all the delicious bread and pastries (they all looked so beautiful i would’ve wanted to get more), to the Filipino breakfast station and the bagels, the fruits, crepes, cheese, you name it, this place had it. So if you have a brunch meeting coming up, I strongly suggest you have it here, you won’t regret it.

I had to go back to the Marriott Manila buffet about 4 times, I just had to check and recheck what else they had to offer. So if you decide to go, don’t be shy to just look around and try a little bit of everything, the extra pounds gained will be worth it. And hey, you could always go to the gym afterwards anyway .

Here was my final plate for that morning. I bet the balikbayans won’t be able to resist Marriott Cafe’s filipino station either. They had longganisa (yum!), danggit, dried pusit, sinangag (fried rice), and even rice cakes.   They also had adobo if you’re thinkin’ of having an early lunch.

I’d love to post our picture here of just how much we enjoyed our breakfast but somehow, our out of bed head was just not cut out for morning photo op.

When In Manila, the next time you or your family would like to take a little vacation just in the city (especially with the holy week coming up), then when in Manila, don’t forget to experience the Marriott Hotel Manila. We’re sure you’ll enjoy it, I know we did 🙂
