Marcelino’s Inutak Will Make Your Heart Happy

Having grown up all over the world and not here in the Philippines, Filipino desserts and kakanin and the like are still relatively unfamiliar to me. I have tasted a few of the more “popular” ones here and there, but inutak is something I hadn’t heard of until Marcelino’s… and I am now wondering why because OMG IT’S HELLA DELICIOUS!!!

Noreen Musni and Lisette Marcelino have been friends since 1993. Noreen is originally from Pampanga and transferred to Ususan in 1989, while Lisette is originally from Ususan. Lisette shares that her family is her greatest inspiration. Wanting to continue the family’s long tradition of offering the best food delicacies, she envisioned Marcelino as a trademark at every family’s table. Lizet values the experience of having a good meal for the family and feels fulfillment in being a part of that experience.

The Marcelinos are actually quite popular in Ususan, Taguig for their home-cooked dishes. This is why so many people  – famous personalities included – order food from them, particularly as gifts for special occasions. Some of Marcelino’s recipes are passed down, some are inspired by their dishes, and others are Lizet’s own creations and fusions.

“Our products are unique because when we made them, we first thought about how people would feel as they eat it,” shares Noreen. Lizet cooks as if she is cooking for her loved ones, always considering if they will feel happiness in their hearts after eating her food.

Her mantra is: “Always pretend like you are cooking for your family, even if they are strangers.” And I absolutely love that. You can really taste the love in her food, and it feels like home.

Marcelino was established with the inspiration of the family’s passion in sharing good food prepared and cooked with a heart. Their vision is to bring authentic happiness in every dish we serve, offering a sense of comfort, familiarity, and nostalgia – just like a taste of home.

When I was raving about Marcelino’s inutak on social media and openly wondered why I hadn’t tasted this particular delicacy before, a friend of mine shared that it was her personal favorite. Well, I think everyone definitely needs to get a taste of it or get a fill of it – and Marcelino would be the best place to get it. You definitely won’t be disappointed!
