BUFFALO CHICKEN RICE MELT
If counting calories isn’t your thing, then this plate of carb-sin is the right lunch out item for you! It’s everything a weight-watcher shouldn’t have: buffalo chicken cooked to tenderness, a heap of rice, and of course, that melted dairy goodness. Filling to a fault, the team liked the ‘busog value’ of this dish, priced at just P199 per order.
Note: As with the sisig, chow down on this quickly, before the melt stiffens. Best with a glass of soda, we reckon, but that might bloat you up even more!
ALIGUE FRIED RICE
Something for the seafood-lover. This sizzling plate is sneaky; the serving is, we reckon, good for two. A hungry guy could wolf this down, but if you want something a table can share, this is the menu item for you. Assorted seafood pepper the dish, and they are not at all stingy with the serving. Now this one we recommend with a light alcoholic drink!
Note: At P249 a plate, this is nearer to the price point of other BGC places, but still a great value due to the serving size.
TRUFFLE BEEF TAPA
Yes, you read that right. Truffle. Tapa. We won’t talk about this too much – the phrase “must try” is as overdone as can be, but there is no exaggerating with this dish. First, we aren’t haters, but truffle is rarely good with random breakfast items. Second, truffle on tapa totally killed our perceptions about the first point. The eggs add a nice breakfast-y touch to this lunch menu item, and it’s a great move away from typical tapa items in other establishments.
Note: F*cking delicious. Like, seriously.
This last item wasn’t named for being cruel or cold. Rather, the ingredients – all meat and BACON – should be enough to make the health-conscious take a step back. However, if you’re looking to go full-YOLO for lunch. We absolutely recommend this home-recipe pizza from Cable Car. The dough is soft and moist, and each bite packs a punch of meaty flavors. And bacon. Of course, bacon.
Note: Do not attempt to order one for yourself. It’s a friendship-breaker, to not share this huge order. Good for 3-4 people, and a light beer perhaps.
