The Ateneo Management Information Systems Association annually holds an event called Tambay Week, which is mainly focused on promoting the interaction and bonding between all members of the organization. This year’s Tambay Week 2020 was held with a theme of the popular indie mobile game, Among Us, because it has served as an avenue for old and new MISA members to get to know one another amidst the lockdown. The online event happened last January 11 to 15, 2021, right after the students’ final examinations to allow them to unwind and relax from the stress of academics. The event also served as an initiative to create a friendly and welcoming environment for the members, especially for the freshmen.
The week was filled with activities and events for the students, consisting of open game lobbies on the official Discord server of MISA, gaming livestreams on Facebook, game tournaments for Among Us and Valorant, and movie nights. Gaming lobbies on Discord were open to all members of the organization wherein students were free to join any voice channel dedicated to games such as Jackbox, Among Us, and Valorant, or they could opt to join a free chat voice channel. Daily activities such as “Crewmate Tasks” and Questions of the Day were also given to boost member participation during the week.
Movie Nights were held for two days during the week, as members voted to watch the movies Us and Orient Express together through streaming on Discord. Furthermore, funds from the Valorant Tournament will be donated to the COVID-19 frontliners. Out of the generosity of the participants who paid more than the required entrance fee, Php 3,536.00 was raised to be donated to our hardworking frontliners.
