LOOK: Vico Sotto Calls Out for People Willing to Adopt Pasig’s Retired K9 Dogs

August 26th was (apparently) International Dog Day, and to celebrate man’s best friend on their special day, Pasig city Mayor Vico Sotto took it to social media to post about Pasig City’s retired K9 dogs.

In his status, he wrote that six dogs from Pasig’s K9 unit are now retired, and are in need of a new, loving home. He said: “International Dog Day daw ngayon! Sakto, may anim kaming aso na for adoption. Mga nag-retiro sa K9 Unit natin.” [They said it’s International Dog Day today! What a coincidence, we have six dogs up for adoption. They are retired dogs from our K9 unit.]

The dogs up for adoption are:

  • Miki, an 11-year old female Belgian Malinois
  • Tanya, a 7-year-old female Belgian Malinois
  • Olga, a 7-year-old female Belgian Malinois
  • Ranger, an 8-year-old male Belgian Malinois
  • Maggi, a 7-year-old female Belgian Malinois x Labrador crossbreed
  • Dimple, an 8-year-old female Belgian Malinois

But take note, Mayor Sotto also emphasized that individuals interested in adopting these beautiful dogs will have to be screened. He wrote in his post: “Those [who] will adopt should be experienced in handling dogs. If interested, please message Pasig City DRRMO for screening.”
