Launched just in 2019, this Pinoy-made app gained popularity with its simple yet funny and addicting gameplay. You will be presented with options related to pop culture, and you simply have to swipe left or right as you decide on this question: “Alin ang mas bongga?”

But to up the ante, coins are rewarded to you for every poll option you choose that is also deemed the most popular vote by other Bongga Ka Day users. Coins can be used to purchase rewards—and in the case of two very lucky Pinoys, their coins got them an iPhone 11.
The first winner, Charles Francis Echano (aka @tsarls08 on the app), won his iPhone 11 through a raffle draw. In this Bongga Ka Day contest, users can get a raffle entry for 25 coins each. Charles had one raffle entry, but luckily won in the raffle draw out of hundreds of entries!

When asked about his win, Charles shared that he initially felt shocked but is happy about his unexpected triumph. “Hindi ko ‘to ineexpect,” he said. “Nung lumabas yung option for iPhone 11 raffle, I tried it once lang and totally forgot that I had one raffle entry! Happy coz #NoIponNoProblem! I don’t have to spend so much for a new phone and sakto kasi sumusuko na yung luma ko,” Charles said with a laugh. [“I wasn’t expecting it.” “When the option for the iPhone 11 appeared, I tried it once and totally forgot that I had one raffle entry! I’m happy because #NoSavingsNoProblem. I don’t have to spend so much for a new phone, which is timely because my old one is about to give up.”]

As for tips to other Bongga Ka Day users on how to also win rewards, Charles shared: “I earned my Bongga Coins by going with the option that most people I know, would choose. So major tip: don’t pick for yourself!”
On the other hand, Bongga Ka Day winner Thelma Lee (aka @dora on the app) won her iPhone 11 by collecting 1,500 Bongga Coins that earned her the big reward. It was perfect timing, Thelma said, as her daughter’s phone got stolen. So when they saw that Bongga Ka Day was giving out an iPhone 11, they knew they had to try!

Thelma and her daughter teamed up and worked together to collect the target of 1,500 coins. They shared that they would even set an alarm to remind them to play every day! And, after five months of collecting Bongga coins, all the hard work proved to be worth it as Thelma was announced winner.
“I still can’t believe na may napalanunan akong phone and all I had to do was play the app everyday! So while I was playing and enjoying the game, at the end may pa reward pa. When asked for tips on how to achieve 1,500 coins like her and also get rewards, Thelma shared her secret: “Need mo lang sipagan araw-araw laruin [yung app] and piliin nang mabuti yung palagay mo’ng mas bongga at mas gusto ng nakararami. Siguraduhin ding laging nag-cclaim ng daily rewards dahil mas nakakadagdag ng points yun.” [“You just need a little hard work. Play every day, think carefully about the options, and choose what you think is the more popular vote. And make sure to claim your daily rewards because that also helps boost your points.”]
Bongga Ka Day shares that for their next iPhone giveaway, users will have to collect 5,000 Bongga coins. But if the Bongga Ka Day Facebook page reaches 100,000 likes, the Bongga iPhone reward cost will be brought down to just 3,000 coins.
