LOOK: This is What Alden Richards Feels About Celebrating 9 Years in Showbiz

Asia’s Multimedia Star and Pambansang Bae Alden Richards just commemorated his ninth year in Philippine Showbiz.

On Instagram, the 27-year-old actor shared a photo of himself looking pensive at the ruins of a building in Baguio City. He then opened up about how he feels about everything he’s been through in the past nine years of his life.

“Reflecting on the past 9 years and so much has happened, it’s almost surreal,” he wrote in the caption of his post. “Some say it’s #blessed, some call it luck. It’s definitely hard work, perseverance, and prayers. All I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

He then expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his supportive fanbase who has never left his side since day one. Psyching himself up for the year ahead, he said: “Road to 10, let’s go!”

Alden Richards began his career as a part-time commercial model before bagging his first role in GMA Network’s afternoon television soap Alakdana in 2011. He was then cast in Tween Hearts and Tween Hearts: Cast of 2012 and performed in variety shows Party Pilipinas and Sunday All-Stars. He starred in a few more movies and series before getting his big break in 2012 with TV show One True Love as the leading man of Louise Delos Reyes.

Alden was involved in multiple projects over the years and garnered many nominations for various roles. His career suddenly took a turn when he joined long-running noontime show Eat Bulaga! and was paired with Maine Mendoza who, at the time, was known for her character as Yaya Dub. They became the country’s most notable loveteam in 2015.

In 2019, Alden once again earned multi-national fame for his role opposite Kathryn Bernardo in the Cathy Garcia-Molina film Hello, Love, Goodbye which broke records as the highest-grossing Filipino movie of all time. He was then named “Asia’s Multimedia Star” after winning the Asian Star Prize in the 2019 Seoul International Drama Awards.
