In case you haven’t heard, there’s a movie musical coming soon that will tell the story of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, from his experience growing up in Tondo, Manila, to his showbiz breakthrough, and to his entry to Philippine politics.
As written in a previous report we did, it was revealed that young actor-dancer Mccoy de Leon is taking on the lead role as Isko’s younger self. But it had yet to be disclosed at the time who will be performing as Isko’s current self. Now, we finally found out who it is—and it’s going to be Xian Lim!

Xian made the announcement on his Instagram page as he shared a photo of himself dressed as the Manila Mayor with the Philippine flag flying in the background.
“Sana sa pelikulang ito at sa pagganap ko sa buhay ni yorme ay makapag bigay kami ng inspirasyon sa aming manonood na huwag susuko sa kahit ano mang pagsubok sa buhay,” he wrote in the caption.
Following this big reveal, Isko commended Xian’s casting and believes that Xian will be able to capture his essence in the movie.
“I think Xian can give justice to the character. I believe in him and I hope he can inspire other people through this movie,” Isko told ABS-CBN News.

“Yorme: The Musical” is a co-production with Viva Films and Saranggola Productions, and is set for release this coming June 2021. It will be directed by Joven Tan and include 19 original songs all composed by him.
Previously, Director Joven clarified that Isko will not be involved in the making of the movie musical and is not a campaign for the 2022 Elections.
