Batanes, given its breathtaking beauty is one of the must-visit destinations in the country. With its vast green and lush grassland, rugged cliffs, and the enchanting combination of serene mountains, skies and seas, no wonder that a lot of people, both foreigners and locals, are willing to brave the journey just to get to the northernmost province of the Philippines.
And well, isn’t it so much better to share these lovely landscapes and experiences with the person you love?
While we’re all waiting for some seat sales and travel deals, or probably for the person we love to love us back, here’s a must-watch Batanes travel video made by Jonnelle Ranara and Bea Paragas. This couple recently went to Batanes to explore the islands of Batan and Sabtang and they gladly shared a glimpse of Batanes’ beauty with us.
During their stay in Batanes, they visited two of the biggest islands in the province. They also shared that whenever they go on a trip, they search for the common itineraries prepared by travel agencies, and then, they rent a motorbike and explore the place while going the other way around. Through this, they get to experience the must-see spots with no rush and less tourists.
In case you’re planning to explore the province the way they did, Jonnelle shared that he wouldn’t recommend driving around on a motorbike if one is not confident or experienced enough since the roads are winding and have crazy sharps which are a bit similar to the route from Baguio to Sagada. “But if one can do it by bike, it is one of the best drives one can experience – beautiful vistas, coastlines, beaches, cliffs and the refreshing breeze all day long while you drive around the island is perhaps the most rewarding experience of them all. And to be honest, the drive alone around the island is worth all the trouble and in my honest opinion, it is the ultimate way to get around the islands.”, he added.
