City of stars?
Indeed it is! This couple from California, Ellen Wleklinski and Corey Collins, are huge fans of La La Land. You know, that big romantic, musical movie release from January that not only raked so many awards and nominations, but also the hearts of everyone around the world? Yeah, it’s a pretty great film.

La La Land is set in the LA, the city of stars, and is about Mia and Sebastian, both starving artists struggling to make a name for themselves. Being also both Californians, Ellen and Corey finds many similarities between the film couple and them, and therefore thought it perfect to have their own La La Land-inspired photo shoot to celebrate their engagement. Plus, they also had one of their very first dates at the Griffith Observatory, too, a location where Mia and Sebastian also danced the night away for their first date. It’s just the perfect peg for Ellen and Corey, basically.
According to their photographer, Marlies Hartman, they didn’t want to recreate every shot from the movie, per se, but instead channel the energy of Mia and Sebastian’s love story into the photos. Well, job well done.
