LOOK: These Indie Artists Are Offering A Course on Song Arranging

This quarantine pushes some of us to create more. May it be in the form of visual art, creative writing, dance, or music. However, it will come to a point where we will run out of ideas. And if that is you and you are an aspiring or upcoming musician, Arrange PH offers an online course for you.

Arrange PH is founded by two members of the indie-folk band, Munimuni: Josh Tumaliuan (drummer) and John Owen Castro (flutist and vocalist). The goal of this project is to encourage aspiring and upcoming musicians to explore more musical ideas with the resources they have.

The instructors will guide the class together with the knowledge they have acquired for years of training. Josh Tumaliuan started playing the drums at the age of 9. He has performed and worked in song arrangement with various artists such as Munimuni, Sabu, and Liana. He has trained by the renowned drummer, Michael Alba. And now, he is finishing his studies at the University of the Philippines College of Music.

John Owen Castro, on the other hand, has been performing since he was a child. First studied privately at AWIT Institute for the Arts, then went to Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) and the University of the Philippines, College of Music. He is also a part of various music ensembles: Munimuni, Rag-o Duo, and the Ripieno Ensemble PH.

With the credentials and experience of the instructors, we could say that they could provide proper foundations and could impart additional essential tools in song arranging.

The course consists of 12 sessions and will begin on October 3, 2020. Enrollment is now ongoing. To inquire about the tuition fee, send an email to arrangeph@gmail.com. Follow Arrange PH at Facebook, Twitter, Instagram (@ArrangePh)!
