If you’re a fan of comics, whether foreign or local, you must check this exhibit on the Philippine komiks industry at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

It’s called Komiks: Sining Biswal and plots how the industry evolved in the Philippines.

According to the Visual Arts and Museum Division of the CCP, “the exhibition will feature komiks artists from different time periods spanning over ninety years. It hopes to inspire aspiring komiks creators and enthusiasts to pursue a komiks career by showing them the process involved in the creation as well as the historical milestones of the komiks industry.”

On display are original works and illustrations by select comic artists and illustrators, as well as pieces from private collections.

It is curated by Randy Valiente, a writer and illustrator who does comics, children’s books, storyboards, and concept art.

Komiks: Sining Biswal is exhibited at the CCP Pasilyo Vicente Manansala (the second-floor hallway gallery) until December 15, 2022.
