One of the best things to look forward to every mealtime is dessert. I am especially obsessed with chocolate! I think it’s one of the best things in the world, and I’m sure a lot of chocolate-lovers also enjoy it in any form; such as cakes!

While chocolate cakes are heaven-sent just the way they are, sometimes it takes an extraordinary one to blow your mind. That’s exactly what happened when I took my first bite of Apicapica’s chocolate dream cake.

Apicapica is the brainchild of Niki Lacson, a full-time mom who’s a self-confessed food-lover. Her love for food pushed her to take up HRIM in college with the dream of opening her pastry shop.

Niki shared with WhenInManila.com that the quarantine also allowed her and her 2-year old to start baking cakes just for fun. Because the cakes were just too good, their friends and family asked to buy the cakes! And thus began Apicapica.

Why the name? It’s what her 2-year old blurted out when they asked what the cakes should be called. Cute!

Apicapica’s chocolate dream cakes are slow-cooked, making it super moist yet soft. It also has a layer of slow-cooked salted caramel filling topped with rich chocolate ganache. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water!

They even use local cacao to help local farmers. That also tells you how excellent their ingredients are.

You have to try these dream cakes for yourself because it’s exactly what it says it is: a dream. Every bite is a full-on chocolate experience in your mouth. Chocolate lovers will surely enjoy it.
