LOOK: QC to Test Out E-trikes in Maginhawa

e-trike

On Monday, April 24, the Quezon City government will release five e-trikes that will accommodate passengers in Maginhawa. The vehicles will come from the Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) parking area along Kalayaan Avenue. The e-trikes will pick up passengers from the City Hall Compound and then drop them off at designated stops along the Maginhawa Art and Food Hub.

This will be a trial run of the service for two months.

The vehicles were a donation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). If the trial run is successful, the local government of Quezon City will deploy 15 more units.

In Manila City, Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada deployed 50 e-trikes in April. Moreover, Boracay has also implemented this and the local government is considering completely shifting from regular tricycles to e-trikes.
