Our Miss Universe Philippines 2016 is officially opening a new chapter in her life, now that she’s engaged to be married!
Maxine Medina surprised friends and fans on Monday, April 4, when she shared the great news that her boyfriend of over three years, diving instructor Timmy Llana, had proposed to her while on vacation in Palawan.
The carousel of photos that Maxine uploaded started with a close-up picture of her giant diamond ring as she wrote on the caption: “Finally my forever.”
She later posted a video of her shedding tears of joy as she hugged her fiancé and flaunted her engagement ring. “This is the start of my ALWAYS,” she said. “[Timmy] I LOVE YOU!”
Many of her celebrity and beauty queen friends trooped to the comments to send congratulatory messages to the couple.
Maxine and Timmy celebrated their third anniversary in June last year. In December 2020, Maxine was given a promise ring by Timmy, who told her at the time: “I promise to take care of you and will love you forever.”
“I didn’t honestly expect him to give his speech before he put the ring on me,” Maxine wrote in a post then. “(YES NOT YET… but [it’s] a PROMISE RING!) I’m so much grateful and [100 percent] speechless when he said those words I love to hear.”
