Heart Evangelista has recently found herself being the subject of criticism online after she posted an “Outfit of the Day” photo of herself wearing a fashionable personal protective suit on her Instagram and using the hashtag “#TheNewNormalwithLoveMarie.”

Many netizens began to call her out for being “out-of-touch” and “privileged” amid a global health crisis while others urged her to use her platform to speak out on “more relevant” issues.
Following this onslaught of criticisms, Heart took to her Twitter account to write an emotional response.
“You have caused me so much sadness. I honestly don’t know what to do about myself. Two days you’ve been at it. I express myself through my art and fashion. I have not done anything wrong. Using my image to create hate is wrong… Still I will wish you well. God bless.”
Heart has always flaunted her fashionable lifestyle on social media which earned her the title of a real-life “crazy rich Asian” by Harper’s Bazaar in reference to the popular Kevin Kwan novel “Crazy Rich Asians.” However, it’s also known that Heart has used her platform to help a variety of causes, such as animal welfare and COVID-19 relief efforts.
