Twitter is abuzz with questions after ABS-CBN Starhunt posted a couple of cryptic photos on its official Twitter account wherein it featured certain images and elements which resembled that of a beloved teen drama television series from 1999, Tabing Ilog.
The Twitter account first shared a photo of a tire swing by a forest with the caption, “Kamusta ang barkada? (How are the friends?)” Later, they shared a new photo of two unidentifiable people on the same tire swing with the caption, “Kailan tayo magkikita? (When will we meet?)”

Although many were excited about the possibility of a remake, there are a few who expressed concern, especially over who might be cast in the show.
Why remake a show that doesn’t need any fixing? “Tabing-ilog” was such an iconic show and was starred in by a group of proficient young actors of that era.

Tabing Ilog aired from March 1999 to October 2003 on ABS-CBN. It stared Paula Peralejo, John Lloyd Cruz, Patrick Garcia, Jodi Sta. Maria, Paolo Contis, Desiree del Valle, Baron Geisler, and Kaye Abad who played best friends. It gained a cult following among the youth and garnered a PMPC Star Award for Television’s Best Youth-Oriented Program.
It was in September 2019 when Baron first mentioned the rumors that he and his costars were reuniting to show how their characters have grown up. However, these rumors have yet to be confirmed.
