When in Manila and you want to look chic, there’s no one else to turn to but Louis Claparols, who released his S/S 2013 collection to a full house at Privé on January 10. The event is the first of of Mega magazine’s Privé x Mega Style Series, a partnership of the magazine with Megastyle.ph, ARC PR, and GMA Artist Center.

The models for the S/S 2013 show were handpicked by the designer himself and included some of the most beautiful faces in the fashion industry. Some of his models were: Joey Mead King, Jasmine Maierhofer, Ornussa Cadness, Luke Jickain, Wendy Tabusalla, Mary Ann Umali, Lou Munoz, Wendy Casas, Ana Sideco, Luisa Beltran, Samantha Lewis, and Claparols’ brother himself, CJ. The models selected were those who have made an impact on Claparols’ career, saying, “It’s like my tribute to them. It’s my way of thanking them for being so great to work with.”
The S/S 2013 collection is a lesson on modern oriental, with flowy dresses that evoke both femininity and sportiness. Most of the dresses were in a pink palette and prints that evoked romantic spring flowers with a touch of sexiness. The lines were clean, utilitarian, and most of all: chic.
A hauntingly beautiful fashion film starring the equally haunting Ornussa Cadness
Prior to the show, a short untitled film was shown featuring some of Louis Claparols’ designs, starring model Ornussa Cadness. The fashion film was directed by Samantha Maristela with stylist Gerick Ortiz, makeup artist Mio Robo of Maquillage Professionnel School of Makeup Artistry and stylist Lourd Ramos of Creations Salon.
Makeup for the fashion show was done by Mio Robo, Melanie Giron, Marilyn de Austria, Jen Robles, and Jinx Aggabao of MP School of Makeup Artistry.
So when in Manila and you want to look chic, there is only one designer to go to and that is Louis Claparols!
