LOOK: Anne Curtis Is Now Officially a Tokyo Marathon Finisher

Anne Curtis flaunted her medal after finishing the 2023 Tokyo Marathon today! The Dyosa participated in one of the world’s most prestigious marathons as part of her fundraising program Takbo Para Sa Bata for the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Philippines. She even geared up in a “UNICEF blue” windbreaker jacket to represent the humanitarian aid organization in the event!

“Every single kilometer was worth it, knowing I was running to help Filipino children heal and recover through the funds WE (yes, this includes every single one of you that donated) raised together,” she wrote on Instagram. Before heading to the starting line, Anne also shared a screenshot in an Instagram Story that the campaign has already garnered almost Php 550K in donations, or more than half of their Php 1M goal.

Upon reaching the finish line of the 42-kilometer run, the celebrity mom got emotional. “Being a mother, now as well, I couldn’t help but get emotional when I crossed that finish line,” she added. “It just hit a little differently this time around. Running with a purpose bigger than just receiving a medal kept me fueled. Which probably, unintentionally, led me to PR. Kilig.”

Furthermore, she stated that she will be matching the total earnings of the campaign. “As long as you keep donating for the next 30 days, I will match whatever the final amount ends up being. So we can help more children receive the services they need,” Anne promised.

Finally, the 38-year-old actress expressed gratitude towards the NGO, as well as her coach Gabb Rosario, assistant Mary Ann Ontay, husband Erwan Eussaff, and daughter Dahlia. She also mentioned the Filipinos in Japan who cheered and motivated her to push through.

“Thank you to My coach, [Gabb Rosario] for taking on the impossible challenge of just 6 weeks to prep me; and the whole [UNICEF Philippines] team, who helped me set the fundraiser up and educated me on the whole setup of TeleCPUs in barangays all across the Philippines. Maraming Salamat to all the kababayans who came out to cheer for me! As in sobrang laking tulong when it would get tough. My dear [Mary Ann Ontay]. And of course, my love and light [Erwan Eussaff] and Dahlia Amélie. Your hugs and kisses last night before sleeping were everything to me and helped start this whole day full of love.”

“Another marathon done and dedicated to the Filipino Youth. Thank you, Lord, for giving me this opportunity. Congratulations to all the runners!!!! Arigato Gozaimasu Tokyo! More piccies and vids coming soon,” she concluded.
