Long-time running TV show gets canceled amid police brutality protests

Long time running US reality TV show Cops has been canceled after numerous protests against police brutality worldwide.

The show was supposed to debut its 33rd season before it was decided that the show will not be airing anymore. In a statement in the Hollywood Reporter, a network spokesperson said, “Cops is not on the Paramount Network and we don’t have any current or future plans for it to return.”

The reality show has been running since 1989 and has faced scrutiny over the years. Many people have criticized the show for how it depicts cops and what happens behind-the-scenes. A podcast called Running From Cops also sheds some insight into how the show works, talking about its sketchy editing decisions.
