Liza Soberano revealed that she is moving to Los Angeles, California for a career in Hollywood.

The actress was a guest on Patrick Starrr’s vlog, where the make-up artist transformed her into Miss Universe 2023.

Soberano said, “I’ve never really officially announced that I’m moving to LA. But that’s just because it is much easier to build my career if I am out here because they are always looking for in-person meetings and it’s just hard to book the job when you’re meeting people over Zoom. They can’t really tell what your personality is like and they can’t see what you actually look like.”

When asked what her main goal is for moving to Los Angeles, she said, “I really want to become an actress, like a world-class actress.”

Soberano is set to star in the upcoming horror film Lisa Frankenstein, which also stars Kathryn Newton, Cole Sprouse, and Carla Gugino. It is directed by Zelda Williams, the daughter of Robin and Marsha Williams, and written by Diablo Cody, who also wrote Juno and Jennifer’s Body.

The actress told Starrr the kind of roles that she wants to do. She said, “I love characters that are rooted in reality, like someone that could be your best friend. I also really like out-of-this-world fantastical movies. I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I had a Harry Potter-themed birthday party for my 19th birthday.”

She also discussed her plans to make music and talked about signing on to James Reid’s label Careless.

“I’m also just getting started with my music or singing career so I signed with a music label in the Philippines called Careless and I’m also signed to a music label here in LA called Transparent Arts which is owned by the Far East Movement boys. They are really immersing me in the music industry. I have been training a lot here. I’ve been taking vocal lessons, acting.”

On the kind of music she wants to make, she said, “kind of like K-Pop but a little edgier.”
