Liza Soberano remains on top of the annual list of the world’s most beautiful faces. Previously at no. 6 (2015) and no. 2 (2016), the young actress now claims the no. 1 spot and becomes the most beautiful face of 2017.

The list, published annually by TC Candler and The Independent Critics since 1990, includes 100 women from almost 40 countries. According to Candler, the list is “not about the hottest or the most famous celebrity.” It rather “attempts to inform and broaden public opinion, instead of reflecting it.” Also, the list “introduces new faces to countries they ordinarily would not reach.”
The criteria in choosing the 100 most beautiful faces include aethetic perfection, as well as grace, elegance, originality, daring, passion, class, poise, joy, promise, and hope—and Liza Soberano definitely is a Filipina who embodies all of those.
Other Filipinas who are also included in the list are third-timer Kathryn Bernardo at no. 60 and new entries Jessy Mendiola at no. 71, Nadine Lustre at no. 78, and Kim Domingo at no. 96.
