Little Pumpkin Manila, a newly-opened Instagram bakery, specializes in creating these cute little cheesecakes housed inside a Japanese winter squash called kabocha that not only look and taste good, but are also great for your health!
“The idea for my Kabocha Pumpkin Basque Cheesecake came from my passion for creating desserts that nourish both the body and the soul,” owner Cynthia told When In Manila. “I wanted to use the natural goodness of kabocha Pumpkin to enhance both the flavor and nutritional value. By replacing part of the cream cheese with pumpkin, the cake becomes not only creamier but also lower in calories, making it a healthier option. It’s perfect for people who are conscious of their health, especially those dieting or focused on
fitness. The flavor is subtle, thanks to a carefully refined recipe, so even those unfamiliar with pumpkin-based desserts will enjoy its balanced taste.”
Cynthia added: “I’ve always been passionate about creating delicious and healthier dessert options. My love for experimenting with recipes led me to start my dessert business. We specialize in low-sugar macarons and low-fat Basque burnt cheesecakes, made with natural ingredients for those who want to indulge without the guilt. I started this journey after noticing a lack of healthier dessert options, and I wanted to fill that gap by providing sweets that are both tasty and mindful of people’s health.”
She also recommends everyone to enjoy the Kabocha Pumpkin Basque Cheesecake within 3 days of receipt and to keep them refrigerated.
