Tula Somebody: Pagbasa sa Panitikang Pilipino” is a new upcoming podcast series that provides an avenue for Filipino writers to share their beautiful and moving words to be read to listeners by a celebrity guest. It is set to premiere on Monday, September 21, with hip-hop artist BLKD reciting poems by Jose F. Lacaba, popularly known as Pete Lacaba, followed by a short interview and reflection on the text, encouraging the audience to have a deeper appreciation of our homegrown literature.

The “Tula Somebody” series will be launched on The Linya-Linya Show in partnership with the Philippines’ first podcast network, PumaPodcast.

(“There are many works by Filipino writers. However, the public has limited access to them. Our goal is to make these works of literature more accessible to young Filipinos. We will offer a different approach to classics and modern pieces that will hopefully spark interest in this new generation.”)

(“We hope that this will be the start of a renewed appreciation among many Filipinos for literature and for being proudly Pinoy.”)
