Lionel Messi Gifts His FIFA World Cup Champion Team 24-Carat Gold iPhone 14 Pros

Lionel Messi has been awarded the Best FIFA Men’s Player this week! This is after his Argentina national football team won the FIFA World Cup 2022, besting the French team in a thrilling finals match that has only been decided on penalties.

Now, the player marked the triumph with a heartfelt gift for the squad and the staff–35 custom 24-carat gold iPhone 14 Pros! These personalized phones feature each player’s name and number, the national team’s emblem, and the text “World Cup Champions 2022”.

Messi reportedly splurged over 200,000 USD (roughly 11.1 million PHP) on this purchase that was delivered to Barcelona from iDesign Gold. In an interview with The Sun, iDesign Gold CEO Ben stated: “He said he wanted a special gift for all the players and staff to celebrate the amazing win but didn’t want the usual gift of watches so I suggested gold iPhones inscribed with their names and he loved the idea.” The brand also shared snaps of Messi’s order on Instagram.

Prior to this, Argentina’s last World Cup victory was in 1986, making this Messi’s first Golden Ball award–the latest addition to his crown jewels (seven Ballon d’Or awards and six European Golden Shoes).
